Life Saving Victoria

Project: Water safety and drowning prevention fellowship

Life Saving Victoria (LSV) is an initiative of the Royal Life Saving Society Australia Victoria Branch and Surf Life Saving Victoria and works under the umbrella of Emergency Management Victoria (EMV) as part of the State’s emergency management services.

In February 2018, 13 female leaders from Sri Lanka travelled to Australia to participate in a two-week Water Safety and Drowning Prevention Fellowship Program hosted by LSV and funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).

The purpose was to increase the representation of females involved in community aquatic education, employment and organisational governance, to prevent drownings and improve water safety in Sri Lanka.

Crockford Communications was engaged to manage the entire project as well as deliver all communications that were required for the program which included presentations and speeches, program and itinerary, media releases and media kits for both Australian and Sri Lankan media, social media content, event communications and reports.

Our work focussed on bringing the alarming number of drowning deaths to the forefront of awareness, discussion and action through female leaders in the Sri Lankan media and tourism industry.

One outcome of the fellowship, thanks to an increased awareness created during the program, was an announcement by the Sri Lankan President that the Chief of Defence Staff had been appointed to implement a national plan to reduce deaths caused by drowning. Work on drowning prevention in Sri Lanka continues.

Hotglue (Dulux Project)

Project: Ongoing copywriting and content creation

Hotglue is Australia’s fastest-growing independent media and content agency whose customers include some of the country’s most well-known brands.

Hotglue became the Australian content partner for Dulux Group, and Crockford Communications was engaged to provide copywriting services to assist with the new season colour forecast campaign, social media posts and a YouTube SEO copywriting project.

Kingfisher Realty

Project: Media release writing

Kingfisher Realty is a boutique real estate agency located in the heart of Burleigh Heads, Gold Coast and specialises in all aspects of residential real estate, including unit and house sales, prestige house sales and property management within Burleigh and the surrounding suburbs.

Crockford Communications was engaged to regularly write media releases about key properties they had listed, from award-winning architecture designs to record property sales. Services included property research, interviews and copywriting for media releases.

As a result, Kingfisher Realty properties were regularly featured in the news section of realestate.com.au and in the property section of New Limited’s digital and print publications.

Royal Life Saving Australia

Project: Ongoing copywriting and communications support

Royal Life Saving Australia is dedicated to the prevention of drowning and the promotion of safe aquatic places and practices through education, research, risk management and advocacy. They are committed to ensuring that all Australians can enjoy water safely and confidently.

Run Auto Parts

Project: Ongoing copywriting and content creation

Run Auto Parts is Australia’s European car parts specialist, and they sell quality original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and aftermarket parts for more than 3,000 types of vehicles.

They required a professional writer for a number of ongoing communications projects including SEO website content and regular monthly blogs and social media content.

Crockford Communications has been working with Run Auto Parts for more than six years to deliver fresh and consistent content that’s tailored specifically for their automotive customers.

Run Auto Parts’ monthly blog now offers interesting, insightful and useful information about OEM parts, DYI and how-to car maintenance guides, industry topics and more. Their Facebook page now regularly achieves an organic reach of more than 28.85%, which is well above the platform’s average.

Marcoola Surf Life Saving Club

Project: Website copywriting

Located on beautiful Marcoola Beach on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Marcoola Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) members have been keeping beachgoers safe since 1969.

The Club required SEO website copy which featured both their lifesaving and supporters club (bar and bistro) services. Crockford Communications worked with the club to develop a structure that would best accommodate their unique requirements before organising the old content into clear and defined sections that could be easily be navigated by club members and visitors to their site.

The final step was a complete re-write of the content so it was optimised, engaging and informative.

Campaign Track

Project: Property listing copywriting

Campaign Track is Australasia’s largest full-service marketing platform provider that brings the entire property marketing process together in one place.

One important aspect of property marketing is the written listing, and Crockford Communications was contracted to provide copywriting services for an array of sale and rental properties.

Crockford Communications produced emotive and engaging copy that was crafted to meet strict client guidelines.

Australian Car Mechanic

Project: Series of technical feature articles on Supercars

Australian Supercar teams The Holden Racing Team and Stone Brothers Racing came together to support a shared sponsor initiative. SP Tools required a series of technical articles for publication in the Australian Car Mechanic magazine which compared the components and set up of Holden and Ford supercars.

We worked with both teams to research and define the technical details of each race car and write print-ready articles which were published across different monthly editions of the Australian Car Mechanic magazine.

spur:

Project: “How is the World Feeling?” app launch

spur: is an organisation that exists to create a world that is fair, sustainable and well. spur:’s work is based on understanding what drives human behaviour, how to change it and how to effectively measure the outcomes of this change. Governments, NGOs and corporates work with spur: across health and wellbeing, education, environment and sustainability, equality, access and peace.

They required a media release for the global launch of the “How is the World Feeling?” app which was the world’s largest real-time mental health survey.

Crockford Communications’ work helped generate media coverage that encouraged 11,000 participants from 104 countries to log 60,000 submissions in 9 languages. The data is now in use by governments, NGOs, and businesses around the world including Blackdog Institute, Beyondblue, QUT, Georgetown University and many more.

MachShip

Project: Various copywriting and content creation

MachShip is an independent cloud-based freight management platform designed for enterprise wholesale and distribution businesses and large e-commerce businesses to simplify their logistics process.

Crockford Communications was first approached by MachShip to write SEO copy for their new website. We developed the structure of the new site along with the content.

Delighted with our work, MachShip then engaged us to deliver further communication projects including a brand story, regular blogs, LinkedIn profiles, marketing email sequences, opt-ins and landing pages to promote their product.

Mobil 1 HSV Racing

Project: 2017 season launch media and team biographies

Owned by the Walkinshaw Automotive Group and known for 25 years as The Holden Racing Team, Walkinshaw’s race team was relaunched as Mobil 1 HSV Racing for the Australian Supercars Championship in 2017. The team is now Walkinshaw Andretti United after buy-in from Indy Car and F1 powerhouses Michael Andretti and Zak Brown in 2018.

Having previously worked as the Media Manager for the team and with considerable experience in motorsport, Crockford Communications was approached to write the media releases and team biographies for the launch of their 2017 racing campaign.

The media release generated coverage across major news and sporting publications in Australia including The Sydney Morning Herald, motorsport.com Supercars, Speedcafe and Auto Action.

DSR Branding is a design studio that specialises in brand strategy and identity for professional services, construction and technology businesses.

Crockford Communications was engaged to edit a brochure for their client’s new property development. It needed to read well and articulate the brand vision. We not only redefined the copy but improved its structure and language.

Superior Seating

Project: Website and product descriptions copywriting

Superior Seating specialises in manufacturing executive lounge, office and dining chairs that are perfectly designed to suit the home or office.

The family behind Superior Seating had been manufacturing quality furniture in China for more than 20 years and were launching their products in the Australian market.

As English was not their first language, they required a communications expert to write SEO copy for their new website, as well as develop a brand story and voice for the company.

Crockford Communications delivered SEO friendly copy and e-commerce product pages for the website, and we helped them streamline the product naming system.
